Doctors can become certified as OSB practitioners after a series of courses and upon meeting specific educational and practical requirements.
A certified OSB practitioner can only be licensed from Tacoma, Washington. The doctor must have at least completed cases supported by patient data and testimonials. The OSB practitioner should be exclusively equipped with official OSB equipment to deal with OSB patients.
Coverage of OSB therapy depends on how the insurance policy is written, but usually there is partial reimbursement for certain procedures.
Oral appliance therapy oftentimes treats one specific symptom (ie snoring) and has a limited systemic effect on the body. Individuals' going through the Oral Systmic Balance therapy are treating more than one specific symptom (ie snoring, moodiness, sleep issues) because it is affecting the body as a whole.
This systemic change can be characterized by blood pressure, oxygen levels and heart rate once the individual undergoes OSB therapy. Essentially, OSB therapy aims to reduce many symptoms which results in an overall sense of improved health that oral appliance therapy may not achieve.
